Gemstone Setting Class
Learn to fabricate bezels and rings and how to set cabochons and faceted gemstones to create beautiful stackable rings meant to be worn together. Learn different techniques for creating textures and detail in your rings.
Dress up your fingers with your very own set of rings using round, square and twisted wire and adorn with gemstones in assorted colors, shapes, and sizes.
Working with sterling silver, we use hammer and stamps, as well as high polish, and oxidized finishes to accentuate textures and highlight designs.
We will learn to construct bezel settings for cabochon and faceted gemstones, and how to use gallery wire for a lacy, delicate looking setting in this 6 week course.
Students may bring their own stones or purchase from the tutor's collection. Class will include a tutorial on a variety of gemstone types, different cuts, and what to look for when selecting a gem.
